Notary Public

The Convention Center offers Greater Richmond Center clients the convenience of an on-site notary. A notary is a public servant appointed by state government to witness the signing of important documents and administer oaths. Documents are notarized to deter fraud and to ensure they are properly executed. The notary also serves as an impartial witness and identifies and screens out impostors.

Our professional in house security staff provides 24-hour general facility coverage. The facility is open to the public during our regular business hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm. We do adjust our opening and closing times to accommodate event activity.

In addition to providing general facility security, we provide all event security and staffing services. These services are exclusive and include security guards, ushers, ticket takers, ticket sellers, door monitors, badge checkers as well as City of Richmond Off Duty Police, Fire and Emergency Services personnel, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s). Rates can be found on our Labor, Services and Equipment Rate Sheet.

You are responsible for providing security for the licensed areas from the time of initial occupancy until completion of move-out. This includes exhibit halls, ballrooms, meeting rooms, registration areas and applicable pre-function areas, as well as loading docks being used by you, your exhibitors and/or attendees. Your Event Manager, in conjunction with our Director of Safety and Security, will work with you in developing a comprehensive security plan specific to your event.

In the interest of public safety, we do reserve the right to add additional security personnel as deemed necessary.
