Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is the oldest Greek-lettered organization founded by nine visionary African American young women at Howard University in 1908. For over 112 years, the sorority has boldly fulfilled its mission to be of “Service to All Mankind.” That commitment extends well beyond the undergraduate years of sorority membership, as demonstrated by our Silver, Golden and Diamond members still serving their chapters and their communities with over 25, 50 and 75 years of active membership, respectively. Together, over 75,000 active sorority members in more than 1,024 chapters worldwide are making a positive impact on the lives of individuals, families, children and those in underserved communities. From Arlington, VA to Abu Dhabi, Alpha Kappa Alpha women are engaged in meaningful programs that improve the lives of our citizens and people around the world.
