The Greater Richmond Convention Center is open for events and we are excited to be "Together Again!"

The GRCC staff, along with its partners from Aramark and PSAV, have undergone extensive training and education to comply with state and local safety guidelines for meetings and events. We are working hard to deliver your next great experience with cleanliness and safety standards in mind. Below are resources and steps we have taken to ensure your next in-person meeting is a success.

Since re-opening, the GRCC has hosted:

RESPONSE TO INQUIRIES RELATED TO COVID-19

The Spectra Staff at the Greater Richmond Convention Center (GRCC) continues to closely monitor the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are working within the parameters of local, state and federal agencies in regard to policies and procedures that will be implemented when we can welcome you back to our Venue so we can be “Together Again”. We are also working closely with a coalition of our industry colleagues and partners to collaborate on guidelines and practices that can be implemented consistently across all venues in Virginia. Our industry has always made safety and cleanliness a top priority and at the GRCC we are committed to raising the bar to help ensure everyone at the GRCC has a safe and memorable experience.

We are open for business and we have been hosting events again since July.

Currently, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Forward Virginia Plan is in effect under the “Safer at Home - Phase III” guidelines, which can be found here.

The GRCC is permitted to host events under the mandatory and recommended guidelines and best practices found in Phase III as well as any Executive Orders issued by the Governor of Virginia. Spectra Venue Management has implemented its “Together Again” re-opening plan with an emphasis on social distancing and enhanced cleaning/disinfection. Details of our plan for the GRCC can be found below.

Meeting Planners/Event Organizers

Until such time that we return to “business as usual” or a “new normal”, social distancing and enhanced cleaning requirements are expected to remain in place across the country for some time. The GRCC will not be creating and implementing re-opening or operating plans for events, only its’ responsibilities related to the operation of a venue. It is incumbent upon each meeting planner or event organizer to be responsible for producing and implementing their own re-opening plan conducive to its specific event activity. We are however here to assist you and provide you with support to ensure your event will be safe as reasonably is possible. This link will take you to a copy of a plan that is being implemented for Connect 2020. This is just one example of an event implementation plan in response to the pandemic.

In a best-case scenario, we will be back to normal with no restrictions, in the worst case, the virus resurges and lockdowns are re-imposed. Most likely we will end up somewhere in between. Regardless, in anticipation of social distancing and other guidelines still being in effect, most of our planners/organizers are preparing to reimagine their event under current social distancing guidelines to be prepared to move forward. I would encourage you to do the same and our staff is here to help you. We have begun redrawing set-ups with social distancing in mind and we are prepared to work with you on yours as well as other logistical changes that will need to occur.
