The Greater Richmond Convention Center is committed to working with event organizers to provide a safe and secure environment for all visitors.
A professional in-house security team provides 24-hour general facility coverage of the GRCC. The GRCC also provides event-specific staff. Some of these services are exclusive and may include ushers, ticket takers, ticket sellers, door monitors, fire watch and badge checkers as well as Richmond off-duty police, fire and emergency medical technicians.
It is the responsibility of event organizers to provide a safe and secure environment for their event (including, but not limited to) licensed space, loading dock areas, service corridors, common areas and any other areas used in connection with the event throughout the license period. Your Event Manager and the GRCC’s Director of Safety and Security can help develop a comprehensive security plan specific to your event.
In the interest of public safety, the Greater Richmond Convention Center reserves the right to add, at the event planner's expense, additional event staff and/or security personnel as deemed necessary in the interest of crowd control and public safety. Event planners are encouraged to, and at times may be required, to maintain a police, fire personnel or emergency medical technician presence during an event. Richmond off-duty police, fire and emergency medical technicians are ordered through the GRCC.
